The Jammu & Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released Advertisement Notification No. 09 of 2026 dated 01 September 2026 for recruitment to Class-IV (MTS) and Sanitation Worker posts across various departments of Jammu & Kashmir. A total of 2,863 vacancies have been advertised under UT, Divisional and District Cadres through direct recruitment.

Eligible candidates who are domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir can submit their applications online. The online application process will begin on 05 October 2026, while the last date for submission of the application form is 03 November 2026. JKSSB Class-IV Qualification 2026

For Class-IV (MTS) posts, the prescribed educational qualification is:

Minimum: Matriculation
Maximum: 10+2

For Sanitation Worker posts:

Minimum: 8th Pass
Maximum: 10+2

Candidates must possess the prescribed qualification on or before the cut-off date. Original educational certificates will be required during document verification.

JKSSB Recruitment 2026 Age Limit

The age limit varies according to the candidate’s category. For Open Merit (OM) candidates, the maximum age limit is 40 years, while several reserved categories have an upper age limit of 43 years. The notification also provides a maximum age of 42 years for Physically Challenged Persons.

The Class-IV (MTS) and Sanitation Worker posts carry Pay Level SL-1, with the pay scale of:

Selection Marks

The selection criteria vary according to the cadre:

• UT Cadre: Written Test – 85 marks + additional weightage – 15 marks
• Divisional Cadre: Written Test – 80 marks + applicable additional weightage – 20 marks
• District Cadre: Written Test – 75 marks + applicable additional weightage – 25 marks

For District Cadre, the notification specifically provides 10 marks for Home District, while other prescribed categories can receive additional marks.

• ₹500 – SC, ST-1, ST-2, EWS and PwBD candidates
