UIIC AO Recruitment 2026

United India Insurance Company Limited (UIIC) has released the UIIC AO Recruitment 2026 notification for recruitment to the post of Administrative Officer (Scale I) in Generalists and Hindi Officer disciplines. A total of 225 vacancies have been announced, including 200 posts for Administrative Officer – Generalists and 25 posts for Administrative Officer – Hindi Officers. The notification is dated 07 September 2026.

Eligible candidates can submit their applications through the online mode from 08 September 2026 to 28 September 2026. Candidates should carefully check the educational qualification, age limit, application fee, selection process and other requirements before applying.

UIIC AO Recruitment 2026 – Overview

The vacancies are provisional, and UIIC has stated that vacancies are substantially in the Western and Southern Zones. Selected candidates may also be posted or transferred anywhere in India.

UIIC AO Vacancy 2026

UIIC has announced 225 Administrative Officer vacancies under the recruitment drive.

• Administrative Officer – Generalists: 200 Posts
• Administrative Officer – Hindi Officers: 25 Posts

For Generalists, the category-wise vacancies include 18 ST, 30 SC, 62 OBC, 22 EWS and 68 UR posts. For Hindi Officers, there are 1 ST, 4 SC, 7 OBC, 2 EWS and 11 UR vacancies. PwBD reservation is provided horizontally as prescribed in the notification.

Important: A candidate can apply for either Generalists or Hindi Officers, not both. Multiple applications/appearances can result in cancellation of candidature.

UIIC AO Eligibility Criteria 2026

Educational Qualification for Generalists

Candidates applying for the Generalist discipline must possess a Graduate Degree/Post Graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university, including disciplines such as Engineering, Arts, Science, Commerce, Agriculture and Data Science.

The candidate must have secured:

• 60% marks for general candidates
• 55% marks for SC/ST/PwBD candidates

The qualification must have been completed on or before 30 June 2026. Working knowledge of computers is also mandatory.

Educational Qualification for Hindi Officers

Candidates applying for Hindi Officer posts require a relevant Master’s Degree with the prescribed combination of Hindi and English. The notification specifies several eligible combinations involving Master’s Degree in Hindi, English or another subject with Hindi/English as a subject or medium.

The required marks are:

• 60% for general candidates
• 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.

UIIC AO Age Limit 2026

The age limit will be calculated as on 30 June 2026.

• Minimum Age: 21 Years
• Maximum Age: 30 Years
• Candidate should have been born between 30 June 1996 and 30 June 2005, both days inclusive.

Age Relaxation – UIIC AO Recruitment 2026

Cumulative relaxation may be available in applicable cases, subject to the maximum age not exceeding 45 years.

UIIC AO Application Fee 2026

The application fee/service charges are as follows:

• General/Other Candidates: ₹1,000 + GST
• SC/ST/PwBD/Permanent UIIC Employees: Application fee Nil; ₹250 service charges + GST
• The fee/service charges are non-refundable.

UIIC AO Selection Process 2026

The selection process consists of:

1. Tier-I Preliminary Examination
2. Tier-II Main Examination
3. Descriptive Test
4. Interview

Tier-I Preliminary Examination

The Preliminary Examination is common to both Generalists and Hindi Officers and carries 100 marks.

Each section is separately timed.

Tier-II Main Exam – Generalists

The Generalist Main Examination consists of 200 objective questions for 250 marks, followed by a 30-mark descriptive test.

The descriptive test consists of Letter Writing (10 marks) and Essay (20 marks) and is conducted online in English.

Tier-II Main Exam – Hindi Officers

For Hindi Officers, the objective Main Examination carries 200 marks, followed by a 50-mark descriptive test.

The objective paper includes:

• English Language – 25 marks
• Reasoning – 25 marks
• Professional Knowledge – 100 marks
• General Awareness – 25 marks
• Computer Knowledge – 25 marks

The Professional Knowledge section includes Hindi/English grammar and vocabulary, Official Language Act/Rules and translation.

The descriptive test carries 50 marks and includes:

• English Essay – 10 marks
• Hindi Essay – 10 marks
• Hindi Letter Writing – 10 marks
• English to Hindi Translation – 10 marks
• Hindi to English Translation – 10 marks

Negative Marking

There will be a penalty for wrong answers in both Preliminary and Main objective examinations. One-fourth of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for each wrong answer. No penalty is imposed for unanswered questions.

Final Merit

For Generalists, the Tier-II Objective Test and Interview marks are considered for final merit in the ratio of 75:25. The Preliminary Examination and Descriptive Test marks are not considered for final merit.

For Hindi Officers, the Tier-II Main Examination, including the Objective and Descriptive Tests, and Interview are considered in the ratio of 75:25.

UIIC AO Salary 2026

Selected Administrative Officers will receive basic pay in the scale of:

₹82,485 – 4,050 (14) – ₹1,39,185 – 4,390 (4) – ₹1,56,745

In addition to the basic pay, applicable allowances and benefits include Gratuity, LTS, Medical Benefits, Group Personal Accident Insurance, National Pension System (NPS) and leased accommodation as per Company rules.

The notification states that the approximate gross pay is ₹1,10,000 per month at Metropolitan centres.

Probation and Service Bond

Selected candidates will initially be appointed on one-year probation, which may be extended at the discretion of the Company. During probation, officers may undergo prescribed training and are required to pass the non-life Licentiate Examination conducted by the Insurance Institute of India for confirmation.

Selected candidates must also undertake to serve the Company for a minimum period of five years including the probation period. Conditions regarding liquidated damages and onboarding/integration costs apply in case of resignation before completion of the bond period.
