Manipur Social Welfare Department Recruitment 2026

The Directorate of Social Welfare, Government of Manipur has released a recruitment notification for 49 contractual posts under Mission Vatsalya. Eligible candidates can apply online for the posts of Programme Officer (State Adoption Resource Agency), Protection Officer (Non-Institutional Care), and Social Worker (Special Juvenile Police Unit). The online application process will start from 11 September 2026 and the last date to apply is 25 September 2026.

The recruitment is being conducted on a contractual basis under Mission Vatsalya, and the period of engagement will be co-terminus with the scheme.

A total of 49 vacancies have been notified:

For the Social Worker post, at least 16 of the 32 positions are to be filled by female candidates, with one female candidate for each district.

Educational Qualification – Manipur Social Welfare Department Recruitment 2026

1. Programme Officer – SARA

Candidates should have a Post Graduate degree in subjects such as Social Work, Sociology, Child Development, Human Rights, Public Administration, Psychology, Psychiatry, Law, Public Health or Community Resource Management from a recognized university.

Alternatively, candidates with a Graduate degree in the relevant disciplines along with 2 years of experience in project formulation, implementation, monitoring and supervision, preferably in the field of Women and Child Development, may apply.

2. Protection Officer – NIC

Candidates should possess a Post Graduate degree in Social Work, Sociology, Child Development, Human Rights, Public Administration, Psychology, Psychiatry, Law, Public Health or Community Resource Management.

Alternatively, a relevant Graduate degree with 2 years of relevant experience in project formulation, implementation, monitoring and supervision, preferably in Women and Child Development/Social Welfare, is required. Proficiency in computers is also prescribed.

3. Social Worker – SJPU

Candidates should preferably have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology or Social Sciences from a recognized university. Proficiency in computers is also required.

Age Limit –

The prescribed age limit is 18 to 38 years.

Age relaxation is available as follows:

• SC/ST: 5 years
• OBC: 3 years
• Persons with Disabilities: 10 years
• Government Servants: As per applicable rules
• Additional 2-year one-time relaxation is provided to applicants above the upper age limit as specified in the notification.

The age is reckoned with reference to the last date of application, 25 September 2026.

• PwD candidates: Exempted

The fee is to be paid online through the payment gateway available on the application portal.
