The State Bank of India (SBI) has officially released the SBI Clerk Recruitment 2026 Notification for the post of Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) under a Special Recruitment Drive for SC/ST/OBC backlog vacancies. A total of 1538 vacancies have been announced across various states and union territories. Eligible candidates can apply online from 7 August 2026 to 27 August 2026 through the SBI Careers portal.

Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
Final-year or final-semester students may also apply provisionally, provided they produce proof of passing graduation on or before 31 December 2026.
Age Limit (As on 1 April 2026)
- Minimum Age: 20 Years
- Maximum Age: 28 Years
Candidates must have been born between 2 April 1998 and 1 April 2006 (both dates inclusive).
Age relaxation is available for SC, ST, OBC, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, and other eligible categories as per SBI rules.
SBI Clerk Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
The selection process consists of three stages:
- Preliminary Examination
- Main Examination
- Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT)
Final merit will be prepared only on the basis of marks obtained in the Main Examination. Preliminary exam marks will not be counted for final selection.

SBI Clerk Salary 2026
The pay scale is:
Rs. 24,050 – 64,480
The starting basic pay is Rs. 26,730, including two advance increments for graduates.
The total starting monthly salary in metro cities such as Mumbai is approximately Rs. 46,000, including DA and other allowances.
