GSRTC Helper Recruitment 2026

Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) has released the recruitment notification for Helper posts. A total of 2,510 vacancies are available under this recruitment drive. Eligible candidates can submit their applications online through the official OJAS Gujarat portal.

The online application process will begin on 7 September 2026 and the last date to apply is 6 October 2026 up to 11:59 PM. Candidates should carefully check the educational qualification, age limit, selection process and other requirements before applying.

GSRTC Helper Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed at least one relevant trade course from a Government-recognized ITI. The notification includes trades such as:

• Electrician
• Sheet Metal Worker
• Automobile Body Repairer
• Welder
• Welder-cum-Fabricator

The detailed notification specifies the accepted ITI trades and requires the relevant qualification to be possessed by the candidate.

Additional Qualification / Apprenticeship

Candidates who have completed Apprenticeship in the same trade as their ITI qualification and possess the relevant NCVT certificate and marksheet can receive additional weightage. For example, an ITI Electrician candidate must have completed apprenticeship in the Electrician trade to qualify for this additional benefit.

Age Limit – GSRTC Helper Recruitment 2026

The basic age requirement is 18 to 35 years.

The notification provides category-wise upper-age relaxations. The general upper age is 35 years for male candidates and 40 years for general-category female candidates, while applicable reserved-category, Ex-Servicemen and PwD relaxations can extend the maximum age subject to the notification’s conditions.

For the basic 18–35 age bracket, the notification mentions the relevant date of birth range as 6 October 1991 to 6 October 2008.

GSRTC Helper Selection Process

The selection process includes a 100-mark MCQ-based examination followed by preparation of the merit list and document verification.

The final 100-mark weightage is:

• Written/MCQ Examination – 90 marks weightage
• Apprenticeship Certificate – 10 marks weightage
• Total – 100 marks

Candidates are called for document verification based on merit, with the notification providing for candidates at approximately 1.5 times the number of vacancies, subject to the Corporation’s requirements.

GSRTC Helper Exam Pattern

The examination will carry 100 marks with a duration of 2 hours.

GSRTC Helper Salary 2026

Selected candidates will initially receive a fixed monthly salary of ₹21,100 for five years on a contractual basis. After satisfactory completion of five years of service, candidates may become eligible for regular appointment at the applicable basic pay under the Corporation’s prevailing rules.

• Reserved categories, including women, SEBC, SC, ST, EWS, PwD and Ex-Servicemen: ₹200 + GST
