MPESB SI Exam Pattern 2026

The selection examination is conducted in two stages:

Stage 1 – Preliminary Written Examination

The preliminary written examination is of 100 marks with a duration of 2 hours. The subjects include:

General Studies – 300 Marks

Part A – History & Indian Society – 150 Marks

The syllabus also covers post-independence consolidation and reorganization, major features of Indian society, India’s diversity, India and Madhya Pradesh demographics, tribal communities, women and women’s organizations, population-related issues, poverty, development issues, urbanization and the impact of globalization on Indian society.

Part B – Governance, Constitution, Politics, Social Justice & Law – 150 Marks

This section covers the Indian Constitution, historical foundations, evolution, features, amendments, important provisions and basic structure, along with Union-State relations, federal issues, local governance, separation of powers and related institutional mechanisms.

Main Exam – Paper II

Paper II includes Reasoning and Data Interpretation as a 150-mark section. The syllabus includes numbers and statistics, probability, data management and interpretation, charts, graphs and tables, averages, median, mode and deviation, ratio and proportion, unitary method, profit and loss, percentage, discount, simple and compound interest, area, perimeter, volume, logical reasoning, analytical ability and problem solving.

Technical Paper

For Sub Inspector (Arms) under Technical Group 1, the additional compulsory paper is based on Mechanical Engineering.

For Sub Inspector (Finger Print/Q.D./Photo) under Technical Group 2, the additional paper is based on Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. The technical paper carries 300 marks, contains 100 objective questions, and has 1/3 negative marking for incorrect answers.

MPESB SI Recruitment 2026 –  Physical Test

The Physical Proficiency Test (PPT) is an important part of the second stage and carries 100 marks.

The 800-metre race provides one opportunity, while candidates receive three opportunities each for long jump and shot put.
