SAI Assistant Recruitment 2026

The Sports Authority of India (SAI) has released an official notification for recruitment to 91 regular Assistant posts under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. The recruitment will be conducted on the basis of SSC Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGL) 2025 marks and the Public Disclosure List (PDL).

The online application process will start on 25 September 2026, and eligible provisionally shortlisted candidates can submit their applications up to 15 October 2026 (5:00 PM).

This recruitment is specifically for candidates provisionally shortlisted in Annexure-I of the official notification. It is not an open application process for all graduates.

SAI Assistant Vacancy 2026 – Category Wise Details

The Sports Authority of India has announced 91 regular vacancies for the post of Assistant.

Out of the total vacancies, 5 posts are horizontally reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), as specified in the official notification.

SAI Assistant Recruitment 2026 – Important Dates

Candidates should submit their application before the deadline through the official SAI recruitment portal.

Eligibility Criteria for SAI Assistant Vacancy 2026

Candidates must fulfil the educational qualification, age limit and other eligibility requirements mentioned in the official notification.

Educational Qualification

Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification.

• The educational qualification must have been obtained on or before 1 August 2025.

• The qualification cut-off date is based on the essential educational qualification specified in the SSC CGL 2025 notification.

Age Limit

The age limit is determined as on 25 September 2026.

• Candidates who have attained 30 years of age as on 25 September 2026 are not eligible under the standard age criteria.

• Relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable to SC, ST, OBC, PwBD and other eligible categories according to prevailing Government of India rules.

Candidates should check the official notification for the applicable age relaxation provisions.

SAI Assistant Salary 2026

Selected candidates will be appointed to the Assistant post under Pay Matrix Level 6 of the 7th Central Pay Commission.

Allowances and other benefits, if applicable, will be governed by the prevailing rules of the Sports Authority of India and the Government of India.

SAI Assistant Selection Process 2026

The recruitment process is based on the SSC CGL Examination 2025 Public Disclosure List (PDL).

The selection methodology specified in the notification is as follows:

1. Eligible candidates whose names appear in Annexure-I of the SAI notification are invited to submit an online application.

2. Candidates will be arranged in merit order based on their SSC CGL 2025 marks.

3. Appointment offers will be issued according to merit, available vacancies and fulfilment of the prescribed eligibility criteria.

4. The category filled in the SSC CGL 2025 application form will be treated as final.

5. Submission of an application does not guarantee final selection or appointment.

The recruitment notification does not describe a separate written examination or interview for this recruitment process.

2. Check whether your name appears in Annexure-I of the official notification.

3. Access the application portal using the same email ID that was provided in the SSC CGL Examination 2025 application form.

4. Complete the online application form with the required information.

5. Review the details entered in the application form.

6. Submit the application before 15 October 2026, 5:00 PM, and retain a copy of the submitted application for future reference.
